Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of servewith.org and the services ServeWith provides (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What ServeWith Is

ServeWith helps volunteers find local nonprofit volunteer opportunities, and helps nonprofits reach people willing to serve. We are a connector, not a party to any volunteering arrangement between a volunteer and a nonprofit.

Who Can Use ServeWith

You must be at least 18 years old to register as a volunteer or a nonprofit contact on ServeWith. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

Your Account and Conduct

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including your contact information and, for nonprofits, the accuracy of any volunteer opportunity you post. You agree not to use ServeWith to post false, misleading, or harmful content, or to use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to remove a listing, decline to approve a nonprofit, or restrict access to the Service for any account that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe poses a risk to other users.

Volunteering Is Between You and the Nonprofit

ServeWith does not employ, supervise, background-check, or otherwise vet volunteers or the nonprofit organizations listed on the Service.When a nonprofit indicates that a background check is required for an opportunity, that reflects the nonprofit's own requirement, not a check performed or verified by ServeWith.

Any volunteering arrangement, including in-person activity, is solely between the volunteer and the nonprofit organization. You are responsible for exercising your own judgment about whether and how to participate in any opportunity you learn about through ServeWith. ServeWith is not responsible for the conduct of any volunteer or nonprofit, or for anything that happens in the course of a volunteering activity.

Text Messages and Email

If you opt in to receive text messages, message and datarates may apply, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP. You can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link included in every email we send. We may still need to send you certain non-marketing communications, such as responses to a message you sent us.

Content You Submit

If you submit content to ServeWith, including a volunteer opportunity description or a reply email, you're responsible for that content, and you grant ServeWith permission to display, store, and process it as needed to operate the Service, such as including it in emails to volunteers.

Intellectual Property

The ServeWith name, logo, and the Site's design and content, apart from content submitted by nonprofits and volunteers, belong to ServeWith.You may not copy or use them without our permission.

Third-Party Links

The Service may reference or link to nonprofit websites or other third-party content we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site.

No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any volunteer opportunity listed is accurate, current, or suitable for you.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ServeWith is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or from any volunteering activity or interaction that results from it.

Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may update these Terms or change, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the date at the top of this page.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles.
